Clips aren't generating or a video failed to process

Steps to fix a stuck upload, a failed render, or a video that produced no clips.

If an upload gets stuck, a video fails to process, or no clips appear, work through the steps below — most issues resolve quickly.

Upload is stuck at "processing"

  1. Refresh the page. Processing often continues in the background and just needs the view to update.
  2. Wait a few minutes. Longer videos take longer to analyze.
  3. Check your connection. A dropped connection mid-upload can leave a file incomplete. Re-upload on a stable network.
  4. Try a smaller or re-exported file if the original is unusually large or in an uncommon format.

A video failed to process

  • Confirm the format. Stick to common formats like MP4 or MOV.
  • Check the file isn't corrupted. Try playing it locally first; if it won't play, re-export it.
  • Re-upload. Transient errors usually clear on a second attempt.

No clips were generated

ViralNote builds clips from spoken content, so a video can finish processing but yield no clips when:

  • The video is very short and has no self-contained moments
  • The audio is music-only or has no clear speech
  • The speech is hard to understand (heavy background noise, overlapping voices)

For the best results, use clear, conversational, spoken-word video that's at least several minutes long.

A scheduled post failed to publish

This is usually an expired account connection rather than a clip problem. Go to Settings → Connections and reconnect the affected account, then reschedule the post.
