Then you press export, and you have a file.

That file needs to reach TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn and X. Each has its own upload flow, its own caption field, its own aspect ratio expectations and its own optimal posting time. Doing that by hand for one clip is a few minutes. Doing it for fifteen clips across four networks each is an afternoon — and it is an afternoon you spend every single week.

Both products use AI on video, but at different points in the process.

Captions AI applies intelligence to the edit: transcription accuracy, caption timing and styling, filler removal, eye-contact correction and generative features on the higher tiers. The assumption is that you know which moment you want and need it to look good.

ViralNote applies intelligence to the selection: the transcript is scored for hook strength, opener quality and payoff, and clip candidates come back ranked with confidence scores, a suggested platform for each and the reasoning behind that suggestion. Where the credit model matters

Captions AI meters in credits, with tiers running from free through Pro around $10 and Max around $25 up to Scale plans in the $70–280 range. Some generative features are gated to higher tiers rather than metered, so heavy users can hit a feature wall as well as a volume wall.

ViralNote Pro is flat: $38/month, 500 minutes of video processing, every clipping feature available at that tier. There is no style locked behind a higher plan and no generative feature you cannot reach. Top-up credits exist for overflow but are not an on-ramp to features.

Which model is better depends on volume. At low output, credits are cheaper — you pay for what you use and Pro at $10 goes a long way. At steady weekly output from long recordings, 500 flat minutes is easier to plan around and usually cheaper than the Scale tiers.
